About the blog
Hello world! Over the years, I have discovered the purest joy derived from helping people and giving our kindness. Nothing makes me happier than knowing that the difference I have made to someone’s life, that it lies in the power within me to convert anger, criticism and negativity into kindness and empathy.
A gesture as modest as a smile or purely listening can transform one’s day and make it seem a lot brighter. A conscious awareness to emphatise and be understanding to the grumpy person over the counter can ease her tough day yet inculcate a higher level of spirituality for myself. A self decision to shake off the nitty-gritty, unpleasant details and be kinder to myself can make me feel a lot better and lighter. As we chase the material world and become absorbed in earning more - acquiring power, status and things – thinking that these will complete our lives, many a time we forget the foundation to happiness – to give, to love and to be grateful for life’s little blessings.
In my quest to impart values and raise a child who is loving, compassionate, kind and empathetic, it is only right and easiest that I become the role model myself. A Kind Deed A Day narrates my daily attempts in carrying out at least one simple, benevolent act everyday - whether to others, or to myself.
